Jirongo: We are being played!
Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, a member of Ruto's United Republican Party URP, has now come out and claimed that "they are being played" by Uhuru but no one seems to take him seriously.
Jirongo's claims, now coming the second time, started when he claimed that him and other URP members were being sidelined by Ruto's allies in the party and that in fact, they did not have a say in the goings on in their party.
Just last weekend, he claimed that the government (Kibaki/ the GEMA sympathisers) were executing an elaborate plan to see Uhuru become president.
This, he claimed, was being done by the government sponsoring several political parties sympathetic to Uhuru's cause then having them support him last minute.
Jirongo gave an example of former Ugandan president Mobutu Seseseko who he claims sponsored several parties (20) as a political strategy.
Among the six parties he mentioned are Ruto's URP, Mudavadi's UDF, Uhuru's TNA, and Tuju's POA.
He further challenged that if any of them were serious, then they should form one party and use it as one vehicle instead of being in different political parties.
The question is, who is being played? is it Uhuru or Ruto? Or is it because Jirongo feels that he is not among those who are able to broker power in the G7 equation?
Is this an indication of a split in the alliance? We can only wait and see.
