The dice is cast and all indications are that Ruto and his new party United Republican party is headed for doom!! (that is what his competitors think)
Ruto and his supporters are said to have identified URP as an alternative because their plan to consolidate control of the United Democratic Movement (UDM) failed.
Ruto’s allies include, Dujis MP Adan Duale, MP Cyrus Jirongo, Trade minister Chirau Mwakwere, Assistant Ministers Kambi Kazungu and William Cheptumo. MPs Charles Keter, Isaac Ruto, Zakayo Cheruiyot, David Koech and Luka Kigen, United Democratic Movement’s only MP in Parliament, Mogotio’s Hellen Sambili Turkana Central MP Ekwe Ethuro
problem is;
The unveiling has come at the worst time. the party will be seen as tribal (thats what it actually is- Ruto having finally found a party he can control)
Competitors are preparing serious propaganda against them. (from the name, to the symbol etc)
Republican is said to come from the coast (Republican- those who say coast is not Kenya)
The horn is said to target all herding communities in Kenya especially Kalenjins to make them feel at home with the party.
Sources say Ruto is not interested in being prezzo or going for a runoff but wants a bargaining chip (which is the number of mps)
Smart move because it looks like none of the other G7 guys will marshall as many mps as Ruto.
We might be looking at Odinga's VP in 2013. trust me, am jamtaa!
