Ruto will one day be president of Kenya

Eldoret North MP William Samoei Ruto will one day become the president of this country.

The only real challenge that Ruto faces is not the opposition he faces from fellow politicians but the cases against humanity he faces at the ICC.

In fact, if it were not the cases against humanity he faces from Ocampo, the coming race to state house would have been a two-horse race between him and Raila.

The man has enough charisma and what it takes to marshal enough fanatic support from his native Kalenjin community.

Standing up against Raila successfully like he did by pulling a chunk of politicians from Raila’s ODM is one stunt very few people would be able to do successfully. (Refer to Mudavadi)

Unlike Uhuru Kenyatta who gets his support from Kikuyus because of his status as Kenyatta son and a “heir” to the throne and Mudavadi who does not seem to have any charisma at all (and support from Luhyas), Ruto is a real “hustler”. He has practically hustled his way to the top and on the way flooring people like Gideon Moi.

It is against this background that I feel Ruto has the capability to gather numbers to propel him to state house (the game is about numbers anyway)

If Ruto manages to break loose from Ocampo’s noose, then we have ourselves a president in waiting.
