there's a popular saying in swahili that "makosa ni kurudia makosa" whichever way you want to put it... meaning that no one should have an excuse for making the same mistake twice.
now to my point, there is this silly segment in the news called "the BIG question"... they would rather call it the silly question...
you are watching the news and the story is about some big-bellied politician.. then after the news story, the presenter says.." this brings us to our news segment, the big qstn, where we ask, would you vote for... blah blah blah?"
seriously!!! "would you" the word would is a past tense of will and a modal verb... i will not explain what those mean...(look it up on wiktionary) if you ask me if i would vote for someone, my answer can be, yes, no, why not, in comparison to, over who?.... etc. in short, i feel that they are supposed to give us two or more names to choose from, then the qstn becomes relevant.
like for example, "would you vote for X over Y in 2012?" but if they cannot give us two or more names, then they should as well ask" will you vote for X?" fullstop.. if your answer is yes, why? and if it is no, why?
anyway, that is why Kenyans who do not want to waste their time and money will never answer those questions.
frankly if you ask me if i would vote for A, my answer could be yes, and then ask me if i would vote for B the next day and my answer would still be yes, and so on for C, D, E, up to Z.. but if you simply ask me, among the following, A,B... Z, which big-bellied, self seeking, tax evasive, inciter... (all the adjectives that best fit them) would you vote for, then choosing a lesser evil wouldn't be that difficult..
