An open letter by a Raila Odinga supporter.

A Raila Odinga supporter wrote this and i would like to share it with you.

Hi Kenyans,

I am writing this letter on behalf of the millions of people in Kenya and abroad who believe in the man Raila Odinga and believe in his ability to deliver us from bad leadership and corrupt leaders who have continually brought Kenya down.

  • ·         Of all the leaders in Kenya, this is the only man who is a nationalist or at least shown signs of being one.
  • ·         This is the only man, according to me, who has publicly denounced tribalism and acted towards exactly that.
  • ·         The fact that he is a Luo does not really matter because at the end of the day, everyone comes from somewhere (tribe).
  • ·         Raila will stop impunity and corruption
  • ·         One thing with Kenyan leaders is that they are held hostage by their tribal cocoons and allies but not Raila.
  • ·         This is not a man who is afraid to act because of the consequences of his actions so long as he knows that what he is doing is right in his conscience.
  • ·         Whether he does it for public show doesn’t matter.
  • ·         He showed this the day he sacked Ruto and Ongeri.
  • ·         He was well aware of the consequences of sacking someone like Ruto (Rift Valley vote) but he did not care, what he cared about was his reputation as not condoning corruption.
  • ·         To me, this is far much better than those politicians who cannot fight corruption even for public display.
  • ·         I appreciate Mudavadi’s patience in ODM but he must know that he cannot hold ODM ransom
  •      If  he truly believes that his supporters have faith in him, then doing more than 5% would be a good place to start.
  • ·         ODM is the most popular party in Kenya at 54%. This reflects Raila’s popularity.
  • ·         Raila does not need a KAMATUSA or a GEMA to get a “constituency”, he already has Luo without such groupings.
  • ·         Opinion polls have said it all along since 2008. Raila is most popular.
  • ·         For those who believe that the guy buys the polls, tell your candidates to sponsor some one of these days. The last time I checked, Uhuru is the richest in Kenya, a few millions wouldn’t hurt.
  • ·         The opinion polls will not change, most Kenyans have made up their minds on their candidates.
  • ·         I recently heard one person saying that he has never been interviewed by the pollers. Simple basic knowledge in research will tell you that they only need a representative sample.
  • ·         Raila knows he cannot get Rift Valley and Central to change their minds, that’s why he recently said point blank that the two must go to the Hague.
  • ·         We need someone who can bring equality in job distribution in Kenya.
  • ·         Raila is the only leader who appears in every disaster site and tries to quell strikes in Kenya. Is it that the others don’t even care?
  • ·         Yes, I know what is on your mind, and I still ask you the same question, why don’t the others also do it as public display?
  •  Recent claims by Midiwo on Odinga's life must not be ignored. If they are false then it is a very serious joke by Midiwo and he must face the law
  • If by any chance they are true then it is more serious and it would be so unfortunate on Kenyans that we have stooped that low.
  • Everyone looks up for Raila to set the pace in everything in Kenya
  • When he said we need to pass the constitution, his haters said we mustn't pass it. Not because it was bad but because Raila had said it was good. ie Ruto
  • Raila says elections are best in December, suddenly, the others are saying we must have it next year.
This kind of behavior is what will make us lose focus as a country. We have stopped looking at issues and we are now focusing on individuals.

The only person who can save us from a Kenya we do not want is Raila Amollo Odinga.
If not, the he will be the best president Kenya never had.
